Meet Your Facilitators - More to be Announced

Stephanie Leftwich-Needham

  • Stephanie Leftwich-Needham is a board-certified art therapist and licensed mental health counselor with a private practice in Silverdale, Washington. She works with clients of all ages, helping them process trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions. A Navy spouse and mother, she’s especially passionate about working with military families and veterans. Stephanie loves facilitating groups and often incorporates eco-art, writing, and mindfulness techniques into her therapeutic approach.

  • “Tending to the Garden of Self” Using basic art materials, participants will work with the metaphor of a garden to create an image of self. We’ll creatively explore themes of strength and resiliency, nourishment and boundaries, and how to protect against “pests” and “inclement weather.” A note about therapeutic artmaking: You don’t have to be an artist or even “artsy” to make art. You may be thinking, "But I can't draw." Let the self-judgment go. The goal is exploration and expression, however literal or abstract you need to be.
